LATEST INFORMATION FROM AAVSB CONCERNING VTNE CHANGES

  1. The process will be very similar to the present one, with the exam applications taken via the AAVSB website, and eligibility applications taken by either AAVSB (a service to member Boards as now used by many states) or by the state/province. All license applications go through the state or province, some before the exam as part of the eligibility review and some after passing scores are received by the Boards and candidates.

  2. The three windows per year will be summer, fall and winter, about a month each; candidates will have much more convenience in obtaining a seat and the Boards will receive scores sooner. AAVSB will announce the window dates as soon as possible, summer 2010 information will be available soon.

  3. Prometric Testing sites around the US and Canada will be used. After a candidate receives an Authorization to Test letter from AAVSB (as approved by a state or province), candidate may register with any prometric site to take the VTNE during the next window.

  4. The exam application fee will be $300.00 beginning with this change.

NOTE: The last paper and pencil exam, January 15, 2010, the application window is open through November 2, 2009.
